Ken Griffin and Steve Cohen are among a handful of multistrategy managers bucking the trend of lackluster performance this year.

Two of the hedge fund industry’s most high-profile multistrategy managers, who deploy a wide array of investment strategies, have posted strong gains so far this year. Ken Griffin’s Citadel had mostly a flat September, with its multistrategy Wellington fund gaining 0.65 percent for the month.
