With all the people moves, maybe it seems there’s no sweat in getting a job in private equity. Glocap Search thinks otherwise, and the New York-based executive search firm has published The Glocap Guide to Getting a Job In Private Equity, which is aimed at arming both the newbie fresh out of school and the more seasoned individual from elsewhere in financial industry with the ammo they need to break into the field. Highlighting the volume are first-person war stories from about two dozen people who have been there, and who tell how they did it. Sounds like a good read, even for the seasoned p.e. professional. The volume also includes sample resumes and interview tips from industry professionals, as they explain what works and what doesn’t. Lest those want to break into hedge funds feel left out, Glocap says there’s a similar volume in the works.
