AllianceBernstein is looking to educate recordkeepers and consultants on the issues surrounding collective investment trusts at conferences and other settings. Raymond Decker, v.p. of retirement, said AllianceBernstein will not be trying to push its CIT products at the events. "We are trying to explain the legal structure of CITs by having lawyers address the various bank and ERISA laws," he said. Joseph Healy, senior v.p. of retirement, said, "Much of the industry is skeptical about these products because they are not regulated under the Securities and Exchange Commission, but we're trying to tell them that CITs are heavily regulated by other entities." He didn't say who would be attending due to confidentiality agreements made with those firms. AllianceBernstein held an educational conference on March 15 in Boston. The next will be in Chicago on June 6.
